Today, I bid farewell to my old package manager, “MacPorts“, and migrate/reinstall/reconfigure pretty much everything that had to do with development to Homebrew. Boy! That took me half of my day.

This leap also took some considerable amount of courage for me, since I kept relying on MacPorts for almost two decades.

Homebrew in action

So far, so good. Python3 – along with pip3 – works flawlessly. All packages and modules I’ve been using seem to function without a glitch. Wow. Kudos!

Although this Homebrew environment feels somewhat natural and user-friendly, it may take a bit more time for me to get used to it.
